About Me

I can’t remember a time when music was not present in my life. Inspiration to pick up the guitar came when I was gifted my first iPod and bought my first songs by bands such as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and the Foo Fighters.

Growing up, I was always fascinated by the ins and outs of music-making, and got heavily involved with the music department at my school. I was always keen to get up and play, whether solo or in an ensemble. Because of this, I was constantly involved in the school’s annual events, such as the Carol Service, Spring Concerts, Prize Giving, and a couple of school productions.

Inspired by my own guitar tutor, from 13 years old, I began teaching guitar to a couple of friends, finding I had a knack for sharing knowledge with others. By 17, I was asked to run the then-existing Key Stage 3 Band Club at my school, which was all about directing younger musicians and helping them develop their skills and confidence. Together, we performed at School Assemblies, and went on to perform in the Netherlands in the Summer.

Over the years, it became very clear that guitar was my purpose and direction in life. After finishing school, wanting to surround myself with like-minded musicians, I went to university to study Popular Music Performance, specialising in guitar theory and technique. There, I gained valuable knowledge that not only inspired my teaching, but also empowered my live performance.

Currently, I am fortunate to work with many talented and wonderful musicians, as through the years I became involved in projects from different genres, ranging from pop, to rock, to jazz, to funk, and am also fortunate to work with composers, songwriters, and producers, as my journey into music-making continues.
